Pricing

Pricing is estimated first of all on a per page basis, but may vary depending on a number of factors:
 

• the complexity of notation
• the number of articulations and expressions
• readability of the hand-written score
• uncommon elements, such as ossias, cadenzas, or unusual beaming
• transcription from an audio or midi recording, without an accompanying manuscript
  

Factors such as these are priced on an individual basis in addition to the basic rate.

Basic rates per page are as follows:

Lead sheets	$15.00
Piano solos	$25.00
Hymn-style vocals	$20.00
Unaccompanied vocal or instrumental, 3 or 4 staves	$20.00
Accompanied vocal or instrumental, up to 4 staves	$25.00
Unaccompanied vocal or instrumental, more than 4 staves	$25.00
Accompanied vocal or instrumental, more than 4 staves	$30.00
Full orchestrations, 8 or more staves	$35.00
Part extraction from full score	$4.00

Please feel free to submit your manuscript for a quote.  All price quotes include, at no additional charge to you:

• accurate notation of your manuscript into Finale, as it was originally submitted
• page layout of score
• correction of any mistakes made by Joyful Sound
• submission of final project to you, in a timely manner, in the form of a PDF file which will be emailed to you

 

The following items are NOT included in the quote and, if requested, will incur an additional fee:

• editing of any mistakes which are present in the original manuscript
• changes to the score after the price is agreed upon

Once a price is quoted to you, that price is good for 30 days. In addition, once work has begun on a project, the price on that project will not change unless your specifications change.
